What is the title of your CD? How did you come up with the name?

SIC WAITING

It's called 'Derailer,' a good description of what music does to the calm and planned out future everyone has in their adolescence.

Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?

SIC WAITING

No. Derailer has more variety than anything we've done in the past.

ATP

Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?

SIC WAITING

8 were written before we went in, and 4 more after we got out. So we went back in.

ATP

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?

SIC WAITING

Just sit with a guitar and a beer or glass of wine and build out the ideas that I've been saving in my head. No real secret.

Where did you record and why?

SIC WAITING

With Chris Chasse (ex-Rise Against, Great Collapse) in his home studio. Why? It would've been dumb not to. He's fantastic.

HHow did you pay for your recording?

SIC WAITING

Selling testacles and working corners.

ATP

Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?

SIC WAITING

Myself and Chris Chasse produced it.

Did you try to capture your "live sound" or did you go for something else?

SIC WAITING

It's not a live record, so we put a lot of effort into tones and building a world within each song. But we always make sure not to get so carried away that it can't be reproduced live.

Did your record label have any input into the music you recorded?

SIC WAITING

No

Are you pleased with the final product?

SIC WAITING

Will you be touring to promote your CD?

SIC WAITING

Yeah, starting October 21st we are touring the West US, then flying east to do Fest 14 in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Northeast.

Would rather be recording or playing live shows?

SIC WAITING

Both have their ups and downs. I love touring, but you gotta have new records to tour. I love creating and recording too, but you gotta tour if you want to be able to keep selling records.
