What is your band's name? How did you come up with that name?

SKINN JAKKITT

Skinn Jakkitt. Like all bands, the name seems to be the hardest to come up with. It either has to be a group epiphany or a debate till a compromise can be made. So, we start throwing around names, and everyone thinks theirs is the best lol. We have halfheartedly agreed on Psycho Signal as the first actual name. Then that wasn’t pleasing everyone, so we finally decided to throw all names in a hat and whatever we drew, won. So hence forth the birth of Skinn Jakkitt.

Jeff Hayworth, Bass Guitar/backing vocals
Shane Farris, rhythm guitar/leads
Greg Stephens, lead vocals

How would you describe your sound. What makes you unique?

SKINN JAKKITT

That is the best part of what we are. Our sound. Heavy, groovy, punchy, clean and sometimes a lil southern rock. We definitely do not sound like any one band. We are truly are an amalgamation of all our idols. Black Sabbath, Pantera, Metallica, Fear Factory, Clutch etc. We have been told by those whom enjoy us, that if you actually put all those bands in a grinder, you would get Skinn Jakkitt.

What bands have influenced each of you?

SKINN JAKKITT

Jeff Hayworth's vein is everything, he enjoys all new music, if it kicks ass he buys it. Shane Farris is the true old school guy, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush. Greg Stephens likes Coc, Clutch, Pantera. I dig, (Barry Sams) Fear Factory, Bury Your Dead, All that Remains, and Flaw.

How experienced are you on the stage, a virgin or whore?

SKINN JAKKITT

Sorry to be dirty, but we a bunch of old ho's lol!!

How would you describe your shows?

SKINN JAKKITT

We have definitely gown in that aspect, we used to be rigid, not sure of ourselves, and no real energy. But now we go full throttle on stage, moving, head banging, crowd interaction and participation. We go out and give it everything we got captain!!!

Tell us about your favorite show and why?

SKINN JAKKITT

Every member probably has their personal favorite. As a group, I would have to say Stuck Mojo reunion at Amos Southend. All of us look up to them, as they set the standard in their genre. It was truly an honor and were excited to be a part of it.

Tell us about your worst show and why?

SKINN JAKKITT

How about the worst weekend. We had a triple header weekend out of town and two metal fest shows. Every member lost their cool that weekend, from getting screwed out of time slots, sets cut short, non payments, and just general road wear. I'm glad nobody died.

Tell Us About Your Dream Show, who you'd like to play with and where?

SKINN JAKKITT

Actually we have got to play with some great bands, Eye Empire, Head P.E., Flaw, Seasons After, Stuck Mojo, and a ton of excellent local bands. Our Dream show would probably be with a band like Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax. The music we grew up on. Any major coliseum or festival with these guys, the location wouldn’t matter just the experience.

Do you have a street team and how can you join?

SKINN JAKKITT

We do have a Official Skinn Jakkitt Streat Team. The site can be can be found on Facebook.

Do you have a record label and if not are you looking for one?

SKINN JAKKITT

We put our first album out through TMG Records. TMG still handles our distribution and marketing. We currently are looking to be signed by a major.

What are your plans for the future, in a year, 5 years?

SKINN JAKKITT

We are releasing our third CD November 27, 2015. We hope this cd grabs more attention and help us grow. We intend on supporting this album all next year. Our plan is to be signed by a major or to be able to tour and support ourselves.
