THE SCUTCHES were formed by Vincent Hoffer (aka) Vincenzo
in 2002, after playing drums in other bands. He got
sick of band drama so he started his own band. Influenced
by such Legends as Richie Valens, Buddy Holly, The Beatles,
The Beach Boys and The Ramones. Vin recorded the first
Scutches EP in 2001. He didn’t have a full band at the
time nor did he even plan on touring, so Vinny played
every instrument and sang. Then the first full-length
in 2005, titled "Cars Goes Fast". After several line-up
changes,he accepted the fact that if he wanted to tour
line-up changes were inevitable. He kept the Scutches
going with various friends and musicians. In 2006 Rich
joined the band as drummer and backing vocalist. Rich
most notably played in a band called Smelt that got
some local radio airplay. Vin recorded and toured with
The Guts from 2007-2008. In 2008 Vin played bass and
recorded with The Sheckies at The Electric Cave (a studio
co-owned by Joe King of The Queers). Followed by touring
until 2010. The Scutches continued to release a full
record almost every year after 2009. The Scutches are
comprised of Vincent Hoffer and Rich da Silva with multiple
friends switching on and off bass. We're celebrating
ten years of the band and are very excited for the upcoming
release. We had a lot of fun writing and recording it
and hope that people will be able to hear that.
